The Sangam Calendar

Gatherings that markour year in Nagore

The Sangam stands in a town whose year is shaped by the fourteen-day Kandhoori at the dargah. Its own gatherings — the Meelad procession its Baithu Sabha once led, the welcome of returning Hajis, the alumni prizes — are recorded in its centenary souvenir.

  • Nadaswaram and shehnai played from the same stage — said to be unique in India
  • Fifteen villages and some seven thousand acres granted by Pratap Singh of Thanjavur
